Help us to create a parish that can foster an attitude of care and concern. St. Rose of Lima's Parish Social Ministry offers many groups geared toward support and socialization:

Food Pantry

The St. Rose food pantry serves as a regional asset and services about 10-15 families a day. Donation needs are: cereals, plastic contained juices, canned meat (stews and poultry), peanut butter, jelly, pasta, pasta sauces, rice "sides", paper products and detergents. Food gift certificates from local super markets or Staples are also needed for items not covered by food stamps. The group Micah (Mobilized Interfaith Coalition Against Hunger) has provided food drop receptacles in the vestibules of the church for any pantry donations. Thanks to all for your continued generosity!

Meals on Wheels

Volunteers bring nutritious meals to recipients weekly.  Call the office for more information.

Furniture

Our Parish Outreach can give to those in need of furniture thanks to the donations that are received from the community.

Bereavement

At the present, we offer support groups for the widowed (Afternoon and Evening widowed groups; Starting Over; Sunshine Social Group) and for people or families who are experiencing a suicide of a loved one (A Place for Healing), but there are many types of loss. If you have lost a loved one and these support groups do not meet your need, please call us. While we may not have the appropriate group here at St. Rose, we may be able to help direct you to a support group outside the parish that might better meet your needs.

The Afternoon Widowed Group

If you are a recently widow or widower and are interested in joining or in need of additional information, please call the Outreach.
