MAKE A JOYFUL NOISE UNTO THE LORDThe Ministry of Music at Saint Rose of Lima FAMILY LITURGY CHILDREN'S CHOIRThe Children's Choir sings every Sunday for the 9:30am Family Liturgy Mass from September through May. All children from grades 1-6 are welcome to join. Weekly rehearsals are held on Thursday from 6:00 pm until 6:55 pm. THE PARISH CHOIRThe Parish Choir of 50+ voices is the backbone of all major liturgies and concerts here at St. Rose and includes both professional and non-professional singers from high school to adult ages. The choir performs a wide variety of repertoire from chant-based motets to new publications. Last year's season even included a performance of Gabriel Faure's REQUIEM. To worship and at the same time be able to share your voice with this ensemble is a truly powerful, spiritual and rewarding experience. A simple audition is required to join. Rehearsals are held on Thursday from 7:30-9:00pm. The choir sings for the 11:00am Mass every Sunday from September through May. MADRIGALSMadrigals is a NEW Advanced High School Choir in development of 8-12 singers. Anyone from grades 9-12 are eligible to audition. Madrigals Ensemble provides talented young adult singers the opportunity to learn and perform more advanced repertoire including everything from Palestrina to Spirituals in a more professional setting. Other opportunities include rehearsals with guest professional vocalists and music directors from around the NY Metropolitan Area. Rehearsal times are based around everyone's availability and once or twice a month. Performances would take place at St. Rose, and other Churches/Cathedrals as well.
