* The Obama administration has ordered almost every employer and insurer in the country to provide sterilization and contraceptives, including some abortion-inducing drugs, in their health plans and is requiring almost all Americans, even those with ethical and religious objections, to pay for this coverage.  This is a “radical incursion into our freedom of conscience and religious exercise,” said Bishop Murphy in his column in this week’s The Long Island Catholic newspaper.

* "Returning to the Lord for all that God has placed in our lives." This program of support is one that will greatly aid the financial planning of our parish and will be of great assistance in keeping our parish operating on a sound fiscal basis.  If everyone makes a commitment to the best of their financial ability, St. Rose will be able to plan for the future accordingly.  Commitment Weekend is October 22 & 23; thank you for your support!

* The Diocese of Rockville Centre is sponsoring a pilgrimage to the 50th Eucharistic Congress to be held in Dublin, Ireland, under the leadership of Bishop John C. Dunne.  The dates are June 4 - 13, 2012.  Msgr. * Beginning Sept. 7th, we will celebrate a holy hour before the 7:30pm Mass every Wednesday, in the Church; come spend some time with the Lord!

* We are pleased to welcome two new Associate Priests to St. Rose of Lima!  Fr. Bruno Dekrem, who comes to us from Our Lady of Victory Church in Floral Park, and Fr. Khoa Le, from St. James Church in Seaford.  Please be sure to say hello.

* Last year St. Rose of Lima was selected to be part of ABC's Extreme Home Makeover by providing a meal for the people working on the construction of the home.  St. Rose volunteers made sandwiches at Lockhart Elementary School the evening of June 24, 2010.  The Show aired on October 3rd at 8 pm!
